Food Review: Izakaya Kushi Raku @ TTDI

Izakaya Kushi Raku it's not a normal Japanese restaurant, it's a Traditional Japanese Yakitori Restaurant and Beer House / Japanese Grilled Bar.

The idea of Izakaya Kushi Raku is inspired from the Japanese, Izakaya (居酒屋) is a type of informal Japanese drinking establishment that serves food to accompany the drinks, their casual places for after-work drinking. Izakaya are sometimes called akachōchin (red lantern) in daily conversation, because these paper lanterns are traditionally found in front of them. Izakaya Kushi Raku (串楽) is a great place for socialising with friends and colleagues while enjoying variety fresh draught beers, sake, wines, whisky, brandy and more.

I love the interior is modern and fun with a lot of the Japanese touch. Sake bottles can be seen on top of the rack. Even the furniture is mostly custom made to bring cohesiveness to the whole ambience. The place is very relaxing and not too noisy, really a very nice place to chit-chat with friends.

Oh ya~! I forgot to tell you, I heard people say this place is famous with their sake and varieties of beers.

I tried the Gekkeikan Sake – RM19 (per jar), you may order in hot or cold, but I personally prefer the cold sake.

You may refer the link below for different drinking experience:

What best paired with ice cold Japanese beer or a sparkling sake? Skewers! No matter they are served with chicken, beef or pork, succulent pieces of meat on a stick grilled to perfection. Yummy~!!!

Let me share with you the appetizers before we jump to the skewers:

Skate Fish (Eihire) – RM10
Taste like Ikan Bilis ^o^ You may try it

Snail meat (Chuaka Sazae Niku) – RM9
I just love the taste of the snail meat, it's very chewy.

Let me show you how they grilled the skewers:

Hungggggrrrryyyyyyy~!!! Makan Time ^_^

Chicken Wing Salt (Teba Shio) – RM7 (per stick)
This is delicious, MUST TRY!

Pork Belly Special (Bara Yaku to Age) – RM7 (per stick)
I love this, but it's a little too sweet.

Chicken Thigh Meat with Wasabi Mayo (Momo Wasabi Mayone-zu) – RM5 (per stick)
I personally love Wasabi a lot, that's why I love this.

Cherry Tomato (Cheri Tomato) – RM4 (per stick)
Never knew that cherry tomato can be served in this way, grilled sizzling with added some salt on top of it.

Beef Ribeye with Miso Sauce (Gyumiso) – RM11 (per stick)
This is so juicy and tasty~! Delicious!!!

Main Course:

Squid Stuffed Rice (Ikasaki Raisu Zume) – RM27
I don't eat squid, but I heard they said it's delicious.

Grilled Rice Ball with Salmon (Salmon Yakionigiri) – RM7
This meal is very satisfying, and the salmon is hidden inside the Grilled Rice Ball, I love salmon a lot.

  2. Everything looks so tasty! I wish I could find a good Japanese restaurant in my city. Because my certified translation services job don't allow me to go to Japan and have a meal there. And all Japanese restaurants I know serve only sushi and ramen.

Food Review: Der Backmeister

Welcome to D er Backmeister!!! Artisan German Bakery and Coffee Shop that serves traditional type of healthy bread. I have never been to a bakery that serve acidity coffees, delicious meals that allows you to choose types of bread, meat slices and mustard/ game by yourself. So, what's special about this bakery shop? They bake their breads in the shop daily, and I mean every morning since 3am. They never keep their bread for the next day. One of the reason I love this shop is their vintage feel of environments here. Once I stepped into Der Backmeister, the atmosphere here tells me they are nothing similar as any other cafe, you have to visit here by yourself to experience it only then you will able to tell me how you feel about this unique bakery type coffee shop. Oh, not to mention their services here, you will need to self-order at the counter, first thing you will know is greet by their friendly staff and warming conversations.
